Is Supporting Transgender Children Abuse?

By Ray Cardello for June 14, 2021 Season 1 / Post 149

No product being sold here….just transgender support.

Pantene shampoo has produced a new commercial spot that doesn’t mention the company until the closing of the ad. They never specify a product because this was not an advertisement to promote a product. This repulsive video was a PSA promoting the LGBTQ Community and, specifically, children in the process of transitioning from male to female or vice versa.

There are so many things wrong with this video and so many questions it brings to the surface. To how many people does this video appeal? Transgender, obviously. Transitioning, probably. The Woke Left, absolutely. Responsible parents, doubt it. Conservatives, no way in hell.

The boy in this video is the son of two lesbian mothers. He looks to be eight or nine years old. He claims that he identifies as a girl and wants his outside to match his inside. His first step is to let his hair grow out so he can begin to look like the girl he believes he was meant to be. Of course, his two adoring mothers support this monumental decision to change from his male biological sex to being a transgender girl. His idea was to grow his hair. The two moms seemed excited and probably anxious to begin chemical therapy on their soon-to-be daughter and start the transition process. This process is abuse. Pure and simple.

How old should a person be to decide to change their birth sex? I don’t have the answer, nor do I think there is a correct answer. I can tell you that 8, 9, or 10 is not the answer. There is a reason we put age restrictions on certain activities. Driving at 16. Voting at 18. Drinking at 21. Decisions require a different level of age and maturity to be able to process the action and to be able to handle the consequences of their decision. Transitioning from Male to Female, or reverse, cannot be understood by a child or adolescent. It takes an adult with much counseling to make that leap, and even then, it does not always work.

The National Transgender Discrimination Survey (NTDS) says that 41% of Transgender people have thought of or attempted suicide. These folks do not need a surgeon for the reconstruction of their bodies. They need a psychiatrist and lots of hours of counseling. How can any parent, straight, gay, or otherwise, push their child in a direction where the chances are nearly one in two that that child will consider taking their own life? It is inconceivable to ponder, yet many parents and doctors are fast-tracking this process of sex change. It is abuse. Plain and simple.

From the time our children are born, we do all we can to keep them safe. We put them in car seats that would survive a moon landing. We put them in helmets and knee pads to ride a scooter or bike. We put them on a school bus rather than have them walk on city streets to school. Yet a 10-year-old son comes home and tells mom and mom he wants to be a girl, and all concern for safety goes out the window. Get the transition in gear before he can change his mind. It is abuse. Yes, you guessed it-plain and simple.
