The media has blown it for the last decade. They have destroyed their credibility to the point that pay cuts or layoffs have replaced deadlines for these information hacks. They bought in on the Russian dossier and the January 6 assault on the Capital. Yet, they missed the border fiasco, the Afghanistan retreat, the cocaine in the White House, Biden’s kickbacks from Ukraine, the Middle East conflicts, the Iran nuclear escalation…..the list goes on and on. They have morphed into a propaganda arm of the Democrat Party, and the people are tired of the lies and shoddy efforts. Viewers have realized they are not getting the news but a filtered, slanted version that the media fabricates to fit a narrative. With Biden heading out the back door as Trump marched triumphantly in the front, the press had a chance for a reset or a fresh start. The reports on today’s Trump presser show that the media has chosen to double down rather than take the opportunity for a total reset. Instead of analyzing the hour-plus press briefing where he answered every question except future military actions. How do you go back to the office and tell your boss that you did not get to ask a question, for the one you did ask was characterized by Trump as one of the dumbest questions ever asked?
Much of the U.S.’s skies are filled with airships we cannot identify, but don’t worry—they will not harm you. We had two terrorists attack us on New Year’s Eve who were in our military, stationed at the same base, used the same obscure car rental company, and were radicalized by ISIS, but don’t worry; there is no connection here. Why does the government treat us like ignorant children, and the media mindlessly echoes the narrative?
There was so much to digest in the time that Trump took questions from a press corps that had no idea how to handle such an exchange. I watched the President-elect and saw a man exuding confidence and understanding of the foreign policy issues he will face. He gave solutions, and the media is too oblivious to the strategy he will use to solve the problems Biden has left in his wake. I also saw a man bringing out the fear of the Left. They watched a lifetime politician sleepwalk through the last four years, and here is an outsider, a businessman, not a politician, with a grasp of the situation and a vision. So, what does this group do? They resort to the only approach they understand. They go into attack and name-calling mode. They called Trump angry, dictator, aggressor, and oligarch, and went on to not understand what he was detailing, but how dangerous this man would be for the country.
As has often happened lately, logic and reason come from the most unusual source. Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman cut through the rhetoric and, rather than lash out at Trump, said we need to discuss, debate, and understand each other. There have been enough examples to believe that we need to start thinking of Fetterman as the voice of reason for the Left. Maybe we should replace the eyeglasses on the tip of Schumer’s nose with a gray hoodie, and he will start making sense. That is just too much to hope for.
