Biden Is A Legacy In His Own Mind

By Ray Cardello for August 13, 2024, Season 28 / Post 6

On Sunday, Joe Biden gave his first interview since being pulled out of the presidential campaign by Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and Kamala Harris almost three weeks ago. While the American people are suffering under the policies of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, the President is sitting in front of a legacy media talking head, patting himself on the back and pinning medals on his chest. In a few sentences, Biden showed how removed he is from reality. Joe was asked how he wants to be remembered, and these are the bullet points of his response:

  1. He proved that Democracy works
  2. He brought the country back from the COVID Pandemic
  3. He orchestrated the greatest economic recovery in history
  4. He created the strongest economy in the world
  5. He united all Americans

Go into any diner in America and ask any patron to grade the President on his self-proclaimed accomplishments, and you will be hard-pressed to find a passing grade. We have enjoyed the strongest economy in the world since the 1800s, and Biden/Harris did more in three years to hurt the economy since Jimmy Carter. If it can be repaired, it will be by a Republican president.

Any talk of the economy, or any other facet of our daily lives, over the last three-plus years has to include both Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Harris likes to brag about being the last person in the room for Biden’s important decisions. She owns the results of those decisions as much as Joe Biden, and trying to reinvent her stands falls short. This administration dumped trillions of dollars into the economy via the Infrastructure, Inflation Reduction Act, and the Chips Bill creating hyperinflation of over 19% and crippling every American budget. By raising the cost of every good and service for Americans, Biden/Harris has eroded savings and retirement accounts and raised the personal credit card debt for every American, regardless of socioeconomic status. People in lower earning categories or fixed income are hit harder and disproportionately than other earners.

Our children will be the first generation that will not do better financially than their parents but may be the first to be unable to buy a home. In some cases, this younger generation may be forced to live with their parents because apartments are in short supply or too expensive.

Biden always touts his record job creation, but stats show over 70% of those jobs are workers returning after COVID, and 10 of the last 14 Job Reports have been downgraded after publication. That means the new job numbers were inflated, and the administration banks on you, seeing the initial and not the revised ones. It is another example of how this administration lies or misrepresents the facts.

It is challenging for this administration to claim a better economy when real wages have not kept pace with inflation and rising costs. Biden and Harris have talked about their proposed cost reductions in key categories, but they will not concede they have no power to control costs in a capitalist economy. Their policies can impact costs, and they have only had a negative impact.

Joe Biden has about 160 days left in office. He is spending that time on a beach chair in Rehoboth. Kamala Harris says she is working 24/7 with Joe to end the conflict in Israel and bring the hostages home. She is on the campaign, and he is standing with his feet in the sand. Stop insulting us with your lies. If Biden/Harris has the best economy and the envy of the world, why does Harris say she is running to strengthen the economy? This campaign is one big smokescreen. It is time for the media to blow the smoke away. And, please, there is nothing to say when someone says they have brought the country together when he insults half the country with every speech.
