Cabinet Meeting #7, A Masterclass

By Ray Cardello for August 27, 2025, Season 32 / Post 29

Donald Trump held his seventh cabinet meeting this week. In addition to updating the American people on what their government is doing, his team showed how much fun this administration is having while serving the American people. This meeting was a three-hour marathon session that gave America a glimpse into the boardroom, as America’s CEO led a class and demonstrated how a well-oiled machine can produce results when egos and agendas are left outside the boardroom and everyone is focused on achieving results. There was a plethora of humor and wit. There were smiles and laughs around the table. There was unity and purpose. There were results, which may be why this entire process is foreign and adverse to all on the Left.

One of the funniest lines was given by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and not President Trump. He was referring to the upcoming Labor Day Holiday and why it was so special to him this year. He said it was so special because this was the first year he had held four jobs simultaneously. The line drew genuine laughs around the table. They were not laughing at him, but with him.

Trump went through a shopping list of successes in the first seven months.

  1. He talked about the tariffs and how automakers from Mexico, Canada, and Europe are building new plants in America. These plants will be huge and will be a boon to the American workers who will staff them in two years.
  2. He discussed reducing our efforts toward wind and solar energy, and how these new auto plants, as well as the massive AI farms, will need more power than we currently have available. He is pushing for coal and nuclear power and is ceasing all wind farms.
  3. Over 500,000 private jobs have been created in the past seven months, while government jobs have decreased.
  4. There have been 84,000 government jobs cut.
  5. He could not take credit for the 250th anniversary of America, but said the celebration would be better under Trump than it would have been under Harris.

Hyperbole? Of course. Braggadocious? Absolutely. Made to trigger the Democrats? You bet, and it did. These cabinet meetings are made for TV, but they are Trump’s way of circumventing the biased media. If he holds a three-hour meeting, the press must cover it, and then they hear the message directly from Trump and his department secretaries. It is a brilliant marketing plan, and the ratings are proof that they are working.

Trump elaborated on how he has the Democratic Party in a trap. He knows that they will oppose every policy he puts on the table. Crime is front and center with Trump as he tries to clean up our big cities. With Trump against crime, the Left is pro-crime. It worked with immigration and requiring CDL drivers to be fluent in English. It is now working with crime. Michelle Wu of Boston and Johnson of Chicago look absolutely foolish defending rapists, sex offenders, and even murderers. But they saw the trap, knew what it would mean to fall victim, and did it anyway. Trump is now controlling the Democratic playbook, and it is fun to watch.
