As Conservatives, we are a target for many inflammatory and often untruthful attacks on our beliefs and positions. Most of these accusations are based on misinformation from the media or left-wing politicians. One of my senators, Maggie Hassan (D-NH), has been posting daily about meetings with various groups that she claims will suffer directly because of funding cuts from DOGE or Trump. Every one of her examples is a misrepresentation of the facts, but her ardent followers will defend her to their grave. They do not know any better and will deny the existence of the truth. It is sad to make such a stereotypical statement, but the Democrat party is full of lemmings who exist to be programmed with the Party rhetoric. We do not mind these shots from the Left because they are usually very easy to debate and prove wrong. Unfortunately, when the attacks get personal and are from family members, they cut to the basis of our core problem in America; we are no longer of different opinions, but we are divided ideologically and irreparably. When the attacks are false and challenge my faith, they have crossed the line to unforgivable.

I received such a personal attack this week via Facebook, and it was extremely hurtful for two reasons: it was factually incorrect, and it questioned my Christianity. Here is the text:

Imagine being on the side that takes food away from the hungry, medication away from the sick, and housing away from the homeless. THEN call yourself a Christian. Give me a f*cking break.

The premise of this statement is the cuts to social service programs to eliminate fraud and corruption. Through the efforts of DOGE, the Trump administration has identified billions of dollars spent on non-citizens or unqualified citizens who are taking advantage of programs funded to help Americans in need of medical care, food assistance, or housing. These programs are funded with American taxpayer dollars to assist other Americans in need, not illegal immigrants or citizens falsely applying for assistance. Americans are the most generous people on earth. They give more money to the rest of the world and even give their blood and treasure by sending their sons and daughters to defend people in need. But Americans cannot be suckers and allow others to “steal” from programs designated for Americans. We have many aid packages that will help others in need. Americans will not let people of any race, creed, or color go hungry or homeless or deny them medical needs. To say so is an outright lie, and to say I am not a Christian for condoning their false claim is ignorant and crosses the line of civility.

The irony of this claim is the Left refuses to acknowledge the 300,000 children separated from their families or cartels who crossed the border and the system misplaced under Joe Biden’s watch. These thousands of children are known to have been caught up in the sex trade or illegal labor pools, and Donald Trump has vowed to find these children and reunite them with their families. The Left refuses to acknowledge the number of female illegals who were raped and assaulted on their journey to America. The open border and Biden’s invitation put all these women in peril. This is also true of the thousands who died from untreated illnesses as they were brought to our border by the cartels that made billions of dollars yearly transporting them to America. They also have no idea of the impact of spreading 20 million illegals throughout our land, 500,000 of which are known to be heinous criminals guilty of rape and murder.

The Left does not see the truth or reality but is quick to spread mistruths and a narrative that fits their agenda, even if spreading that misinformation is hurtful to those closest to them. The Democrats have done many things to harm this country, but none are worse than how they have divided this country in a manner that we may never overcome. As a Christian, I will forgive what the Left says, but I must condemn what they have done. For that, I will not apologize.
