Rather than embracing a beautiful, rural state rich in incredible natural resources and deep-rooted traditional New England values, and building on that foundation, Janet Mills has tried to emulate California and, now, Minnesota. Janet Mills is all about power and corruption. As she tries to play with the big boys, she has neglected to accept that Maine has the same population as San Jose, California, and Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Maine certainly doesn’t have the average income of either of those cities. Still, Mills is trying to adopt every social giveaway available, and Progressive thoughts like a sanctuary state, as if money is plentiful and you have to create new and better taxes. We have taxed Girl Scout Cookies and camp sites in the past, and moved on to gallons of paint and prescriptions. A Rx tax is certainly not a plus for Maine seniors.
Janet Mills has been successful in modeling ultra-liberal states like California and Minnesota. She, through ambivalence or complicity, has created a web of corruption on numerous fronts that will make Governors Walz and Newsom envious. Like in Minneapolis, Mills has helped foster support among Somali immigrants, who have worked not only to be active but also influential in statewide politics. Like Minneapolis, to win a statewide office in Maine. You must have the support of the Somali community, and that means turning your back on the fraud and outright stealing of government funds that is uncovered daily. With Mills, she is in a race for a Senate seat before she is arrested by the DOJ and finally made accountable for her sins. By news reports, the DOJ is gaining on her.
Mills has been on a social media blitz for the last month or so and by most reports, she is not doing well. The videos look amateurish, and the Governor seems old, which is not a good look for someone trying to win an office with a six-year term. She is lagging in the polls against a younger male Socialist with a Nazi tattoo. Seriously, you cannot make this stuff up. Graham Platner has presented himself as a hard working Maine lobsterman and veteran who has moderate political views. The curtain has been pulled back on his campaign and he was revealed as a far left radical, who aligns more with the America haters than lovers. But, this is Maine, and he is still giving Mills a run for her money on the Democratic side of the race.
Mills is attempting to paint a picture of how she is leaving Maine in a better place than the one she inherited. Her strategy is not working. Like the mood of the country indicates that Democrats are losing their luster, Mainers are waking up to Janet Mills, and they have had enough.
Under Mills:
- Maine’s annual budget has ballooned from $7M to $11M
- The surplus and rainy-day fund have stayed consistent only because of the increased taxes.
- Maine has the 4th highest tax burden in the country
- The Homeless population has increased from 1,153 to 2,600
- The illegal Chinese-owned Pot farms has increased from around 200 in 2020 to approximately 270 labs in rural Maine. Mills is ignoring this problem as these “farms” are polluting neighborhoods with crime and the smell of pot.
- In a show of force against Trump and Title IX, she is defying the federal mandate to cease including biological males in female athletics.
- Let’s not forget the decline of education standards. as we have fallen to the bottom 10 in secondary education, and that is unacceptable, especially as the cost of education is rising in Maine. Good money after filing results..
- Her latest dispute with Trump is over ICE. She sees how this conflict did not end well for Minnesota, but obviously, she feels that she will give Trump a better battle. Hopefully, there will be no loss of life as a result of her arogance.
Mills is 79 years old, and that is not to say that lacks the mental acuity for the job. With the corruption she is involved with, that story is quite the opposite. Her resume does not warrant her replacing Susan Collins in the Senate. She does not have the best interests of Maine on her mind and therefore cannot represent us in Washington.
