It Depends Whose Pocket The Oligarchs Are In

By Ray Cardello for January 16, 2025, Season 30 / Post 11

The “Kid From Scranton” gave his final address to the nation on Wednesday evening. Joe Biden sat behind the resolute desk in the Oval Office and had difficulty navigating the teleprompter, but had the support of Jill, Hunter, Kamala, and the Second Husband who sat close by. The White House Family was clad in black in a scene reminiscent of any Italian wake. That scene is appropriate for a presidency that is on life support and will soon be pronounced dead. It was a dark setting for a very dark speech. Traditionally, the final presidential speech is an upbeat and light recollection of the president’s term and a positive outlook for the future. The tradition was not in play last night as Biden continued down the dark, gloomy, angry mood he had been in since he was removed from the election in July. This was an opportunity for the president to be better served by calling for a pass.

It was symbolic that the top of the resolute desk was cleared entirely. Joe Biden’s term was void of anything, too, so he was left to give a horrible, dreadful picture of our future. It was reminiscent of Biden’s famous Red Speech. It was such a hypocritical account of the dangers we will face. He talked about the need to remove dark money from politics a week after draping a medal around the neck of George Soros’ relative. When the money was funding his campaigns, Soros was a hero. Now that he is leaving the arena, the money is tainted.

Joe Biden adored Zuckerberg, Bezos, and Musk when they were in his corner, and he could count on them to do his bidding and pick up the tab. Now that they have all contributed seven-finger sums to Trump and will be attending the inauguration, they are dangerous oligarchs who need to be put down.

When Biden was able to pressure Social Media to push his narrative and squash whatever stories he needed to be quelled, he loved the platforms and their loyal owners. Now that they have pledged to free speech and limited fact-checking, they are evil enemies of the country.

As Biden checked off the many threats he sees facing America, you wanted to remind him that he has been in charge for the last four years and has done nothing to address them. This is the conundrum of the Biden Presidency. There were obvious challenges facing the country that were capable of bipartisanship, but Biden was more concerned with keeping the border open and the transgender community supported. In a recent poll by The NY Times of all categories impacted by the President, the only one that Biden was on top was LGBTQ interests. That poll would be a fair report card on the worst president of our lifetime. It is good to know this closes the book on “The Kid From Scranton.”
