Janet Mills Can Go on the Offense, But She Still Has Much to Answer For

By Ray Cardello for January 22, 2026, Season 34 / Post 4

Governor Janet Mills (D-ME) went to Facebook today with a reel going after Donald Trump. It is obvious that Mills has an advanced case of TDS, and the symptoms were quite clear when she embarrassed herself by challenging the President to a court battle over Maine’s violations of Title IX. She was a guest of the President when she thrust herself into the national spotlight with her outburst. Mills is taking a page out of the Gavin Newsom and Tim Walz playbooks. Go on the attack. Criticize and give Trump credit for all of your state’s woes, and it will keep the attention away from you. Well, the walls are closing in on all of these feckless governors, and fortunately, all three are either term-limited or not running for re-election.

It was a short video, but loaded with criticism. She wants Susan Collins to start Senate hearings on Trump’s actions in Venezuela. She best be careful as he will have an easier time extracting her from Augusta than he did with Maduro. Mills has a lot of sins to account for. She went after his tax cuts for billionaires when they were really the largest tax cuts for the middle class in our history. This line comes from the Governor of a state with the third highest tax burden in the country. She went after his stance on healthcare while she finds ways to extend American benefits to illegal aliens. She also wants to see ICE reigned in as they are coming to Maine. ICE has the names of over 1,400 illegal criminal aliens in Maine guilty of child assault, rape, murder, and human/sex trafficking, and Mills wants to protect these individuals. What value do 1,400 illegals have for our state and people? That number means that one out of every 1,000 people in Maine is on the ICE want-list, and our Governor does not see this as a problem. Maybe she is the problem.

As Mills turns her head away from the problem of illegals, she is also avoiding the growing illegal pot farms in the state, which now number over 300, or the facts coming to the surface on the severity of the Somali fraud in Maine that may be second only to Minnesota. There is nothing there to be proud of, and certainly not a track record that makes her qualified to challenge Susan Collins for her Senate seat.

Mills cannot stand the idea of being out of politics and the path of graft and corruption. Thanks to the excellent work of Steve Robinson and the Maine Wire, Mills is finally being exposed when she has had the media in our state running cover for her. Mills has a lot to answer for and our best case scenario is she faces these allocations before she has a chance to take her games to Washington. I have a strong feeling the Robinson, Trump, and Bondi will have their say in short order. All eyes will be focused on Mills in the next few weeks to see if she breaks down and cooperates with ICE, or wants to turn Portland, Lewiston, and Augusta into Minneapolis.
