Maine has not lost its way. Maine has lost its collective mind. I am speaking of the Democrats in Maine, but they are the ruling party today, and it was the voters of Maine that gave them the power to manipulate and control the state. Unless you reside under a rock, you must know how this Democrat philosophy is harming this state in ways it will take years, if ever, to correct. They have hurt Maine financially with some of the highest tax burdens in the country. At the same time, the money the state is spending on education is returning some of the lowest test scores in the nation. The sanctuary state policy has invited unvetted illegals to the state, making our neighborhoods less safe. And the support of trans athletes has made it dangerous for girls to compete in sports. While this is happening, Maine’s Governor Janet Mills flexes her muscles, challenges President Trump in court, and threatens the loss of $500 Million in federal funds over the next two years. Not only is her lack of common sense impacting young girls, but she is also parlaying Maine into an insurmountable fiscal shortfall.

One person has been fighting back against this Democrat lunacy, and now she is finding a political bullseye on her back. Laurel Libby (R-Auburn) is a voice of reason and common sense, which makes her a threat to the Democrats. Rather than debate her and expose the holes in their beliefs, the Maine House voted Tuesday night to censure Laurel Libby, which makes her a non-member of the House, unable to speak on the floor or vote. The Democrats have canceled her unless she bends a knee, apologizes for her positions, and promises to sit quietly and behave. I do not see that happening.

In full disclosure, I know Laurel Libby and am active in a leadership role in her PAC, The Dinner Table. TDT was formed to find and support Conservative candidates for Maine, to fight for the rights of the unborn, and election integrity through Voter ID. In other words, to fight for conservative values true to Maine’s roots. These goals and values have put Libby in a position to run for governor in two years, which is a threat the Democrats cannot allow to flourish. Thus, their action is to eliminate Libby from the political battlefield.

The issue that prompted Democrats to lash out was Libby’s stand on transgender boys participating in female sports or having access to female locker rooms. This topic came to a head this past weekend when Governor Mills embarrassed herself and Maine at a White House conference for Governors, speaking out and challenging the President to a court fight over the state’s defiance of the EO demanding fairness to female athletes. The next day, a trans boy won the state high school pole vault competition, competing as a girl. Libby posted a picture of the athletes and was censured for violation of privacy. She was censured for being right. Until she apologizes, she is a state rep with duct tape across her mouth. and a cape emblazoned with a big red C. This action by the Democrats will embolden the Republicans in this state and awaken them to act in unison to stop this Democrat insanity and save the state from total destruction. This is not hyperbole. Just like the Radical Left on the national scene, Maine’s Democrats are out to destroy the state we have loved for generations.
