May The Spirit Of Laken Riley Shed Light On A Broken Judicial System

By Ray Cardello for November 21, 2024, Season 30 / Post 3

We would all be in a better place if we never knew the names of Laken Riley and Jose Ibarra. The parents of Laken Riley would not have a massive hole in their hearts and would have a daughter to wrap their arms around if we never knew the name of Jose Ibarra. Unfortunately, on February 22, while on her regular jog around the campus of the University of Georgia, the lives of Laken Riley and Jose Ibarra crossed paths, and Ibarra, acting like the animal he is, ran down Laken Riley. He assaulted her, raped her, and after 18 minutes of fighting for her life, Jose Ibarra snuffed the life out of his prey, Laken Riley. Calling Ibarra an animal is not disrespectful but factual. The heinous actions of this being are not human but purely animalistic. Somebody like Jose Ibarra has no moral compass, no conscience, and certainly not a human, feeling heart. On that morning, this animal was out on the hunt for sex and to kill, and Laken Riley was his unfortunate prey.

Jose Ibarra was charged with murder and other crimes in Riley’s February death, and the guilty verdict was reached on Wednesday by Athens-Clarke County Superior Court Judge H. Patrick Haggard. Ibarra, 26, had waived his right to a jury trial, meaning Haggard alone heard and decided the case. Fortunately, no sympathetic jury was involved, and this case was tried before a judge who took his oath seriously. The trial ended, and the judge was swift with his verdict. After giving the courtroom a quick break, he was ready to announce the sentence.

The death of Laken Riley is the responsibility of Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Alejandro Mayorkas, and Merrick Garland. These four people have ridden point on this administration’s assault on our sovereignty and safety. For the purpose of flooding our country with anywhere from 10 to 20 million unvetted illegal migrants that can be used to bolster the population of certain states to increase Democrat representation, the lives of every American are in peril. The Tren De Aragua gang, which originated in the prisons of Venezuela and made MS-13 look like simple bullies, has now taken root in 17 states, ready to wreak havoc on the good citizens of America. This administration scoffs at our pleas to seal our border,v and they have lied to us for four years about the reality right in front of us, and they have paid the political cost. But we need more.

The American people need to have the Trump administration’s nominees approved quickly so we can correct the previous administration’s madness. We need governors and mayors who are voicing opposition and contempt for the incoming President and his staff to realize the people elected them to protect them from the very people these ideologically blinded people are so vehemently working to protect.

At first, I was upset that so much airtime was devoted to the live views from the courtroom of the Jose Ibarra trial, but then I realized we must watch the friends and family of Laken lament her loss and put a face to her name. We also need to see and feel the face of the animal, Jose Ibarra, who so viciously took Laken Riley from the large circle of people who loved this young woman.

Laken is gone, but if her spirit can motivate the liberal DAs, prosecutors, and judges to realize they have lost their way, then there is something positive about this horrendous story. Their job is to protect Americans, and illegals do not have Constitutional rights. If this happens, I will not say that Laken did not die in vain because that is lame. But her death can have an impact, and that may give her family some solace. The judge was right when he said there is no closure to a senseless act like this, but maybe it will smarten up some members of the legal world who have gone astray.
