Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams were planning a quick trip to the International Space Station in June to test the new Boeing Starliner spacecraft. It was to be an 8 day trip; so short, in fact, that Suni only packed a few pairs of underwear. Well, in a twist of fate, the pair will be enjoying the hospitality of the ISS until February 2025. They will not be coming back on the Boeing craft. The Boeing Starliner returned to Earth today. It was empty and landed in Texas without incident on Saturday. Elon Musk will launch a rescue ship in February to retrieve the stranded space pioneers. It is a good thing Amazon Prime covers the ISS so Butch and Suni can get some fresh clothes.

This is one of the most embarrassing missions involving a NASA crew in forty years, and it is incredibly disheartening that one of the reasons circulating for the delay in the return is the White House does not want to risk a problematic recovery flight before the election. If true, that may be the most selfish decision of all time from our Executive branch. This debacle is not the fault of Joe Biden and the Space Czar, Kamala Harris, but the decision to leave the two in space for an extra nine months may rest squarely on their shoulders.

We have heard very little from Joe and Kamala regarding the botched mission, but that is how this team defines leadership: only claim the victories, like the economy and border, and ignore the failures. Like the southern border, NASA has the same person responsible for overseeing the operation. Kamala Harris was named Space Czar and Border Czar by Joe Biden, and other than a staged commercial with a bunch of child actors, she has had nothing with either program.

Kamala Harris was a liability from the start, and it remains a puzzle as to why Biden chose her. She called him a racist and sex fiend during the debate. When selected, all was forgiven, and Kamala could not praise Biden enough. Her lack of accomplishments makes getting past Harris, a DEI selection, challenging. They had to do something to make her look like she belonged in the White House, even in the number two slot. So they gave her titles like the NASA and Border Czar. Kamala Harris has shown that getting the position is far more important than doing the work required by the position.

There is no satisfaction in writing about the shortcomings of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. They are our President and Vice President, and it is saddening and frustrating that America cannot choose more adequate leaders. The criticism ultimately falls on the voters who do not look deeply at the issues and solutions but buy into the hype and rhetoric. It is lazy and ignorant. We are at the doorstep of electing a president who cannot define her positions on her webpage. Harris is a person who remains flexible in changing her positions depending on her audience, but she has warned us that her values remain unchanged. Her values define her as a Socialist who does not like America. She is hypocritical when she claims a love for our country or asks God to bless it. Kamala Harris will continue the destruction of our country. That is not said with malice, but fear- a fear that this woman can convince over 80 million people to cast their vote for her.
