It should come as no surprise that when investigative reporters followed the money to fund the Texas Great Escape from Responsibility Tour 2025, it led back to George Soros. Since this made-for-TV event originated in Texas, it’s no surprise that longtime political loser, Beto O’Rourke, is also ponying up his PAC money for private jets for his escaping comrades. But, it is too bad for these petulant political heroes that they did not check all of the Texas laws they would be breaking on their last field trip of the summer. They will find themselves self-funding their return to the Alamo that they deserted in the name of democracy.
The Texas Dems have tried this stunt numerous times, most recently in 2018 and 2021, and it has always failed. To be quite honest, it shows a genuine lack of originality and creativity, which is precisely like the Democrat platforms in Texas and everywhere else in America.
First, these folks forgot that their state has probably the strongest, pro-law, pro-America team in the Statehouse in Governor Abbot, Lt Governor Patrick, and AG Ken Paxton. These guys would have a Law and Order TV show back in the day, but today, they just keep Law and Order as the rule of the day in Texas, and they are not going to treat these derelicts too kindly upon their disgraceful return. Next, they run to the open arms of Illinois Governor Pritzker, who has very little respect or following outside the local Waffle House, and he is flanked by the cane-carrying Al Green, who cannot understand that democracy and racism are not synonyms. We all remember Slick Al raising his cane at President Trump as Marshalls were escorting him out of the State of the Union address for violation of decorum. Not a good visual or plan. And finally, you do realize you also abandoned the recent flood victims of your state who were waiting for needed funds you were supposed to vote on when you decided to fly Air Beto? That was not a good PR move. Maybe had you taken Beto Skateboards out of Texas, you might have garnered some respect for using your own power for escape.
So what is taking the dirty money of Soros and Beto, and abandoning Texas, going to cost these political hacks:
- The State of Texas issued arrest warrants for abandoning their responsibilities as elected representatives. The fine for missing House business is $500 a day.
- Texas law prohibits the solicitation of political contributions to cover these fines, so these reps had better have their checkbooks ready for reentry. You will probably see a plethora of GoFundMe sites or lemonade stands popping up in Texas.
- Governor Abbott may exercise his right to remove these reps from office.
- Soros and Beto (does BETO mean loser in some language?) may face state bribery charges for funding this escape from Austin.
- Each of these reps has supplied campaign fodder for their opponents for a lifetime, as well as the stigma of attaching themselves to a constant Texas reject, Beto O’Rourke.
However and whenever this ends is yet to be seen, but the voters will have the final say in the fate of these anti-heroes. Unfortunately, it is those same voters who put them in office. Let’s hope the legal system and good old-fashioned Texas justice put an end to their political careers.
