What a slow and steady change over time. Growing up, I looked upon the Republican Party as that of the elite in America. It was the party of the rich and famous. It did not seem to represent the little guy. The change may have started with Ronald Reagan when the parties appeared to flip sides. The Democrats began to embrace the wealthy, Broad Street, Hollywood, and the media. They decided to move away from Capitalism to a more Socialist country. They love big government and not personal freedoms. Simultaneously, the Republicans have taken to the role of protecting individual rights, strengthening this country at home and abroad, the party of personal responsibility and opportunity, but not equity, for everyone. As of 48 hours ago on Saturday night, the Republicans had taken a giant step together, as their leader, Donald Trump, became bigger than life when he took a gunshot to his ear, barely missing his head and killing him. President Trump was tackled by six Secret Service agents but stood up and defiantly raised his fist and told his supporters to fight for our great country.
With the opening of the RNC convention in Milwaukee, the next piece of the puzzle dropped for the 2024 election as Donald Trump named J.D. Vance, the junior Senator from Ohio, his running mate and future Vice President. Vance has little political experience, which may actually be a positive attribute in today’s America. Vance is a Marine veteran who served the country before attending Ohio State and Yale Law. The candidate is an American success story whose early years were documented in the movie Hillbilly Elegy. He grew up in Appalachia in a broken home, surrounded by poverty, addiction, and abuse. A loving grandmother rescued and guided him out of a horrendous environment to become a successful entrepreneur and lawyer. This is a story that every American should embrace, but the Democrats have wasted no time in criticizing Vance, the person and candidate-so much for turning down the heat and rhetoric.
The attempted assassination and the momentum and unity displayed at the start of the Republican Convention have not gone unnoticed by Wall Street and Main Street. There is a new excitement at the prospect of a second Trump presidency. For the first time in over 125 years, the president of the Teamsters Union addressed the Republican Convention and will not be endorsing Biden for reelection. In a new poll released yesterday, 50% of small businesses predict they will not survive another four years of Bidenomics, and as many as 70% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck.
The Democrats can scoff and continue to speak badly about MAGA, but Trump’s vision is becoming the beacon that is inspiring Americans to have hope again for the future. You can compare Trump to any fictional superhero and draw parallels. The proof is in the results. Challenge any Democrat to prove we are better off under Biden than Trump. They still have some gas in the tank for gaslighting, but if they continue, they will look foolish and lose their credibility. The fact that MSNBC pulled Morning Joe off the air yesterday because they could not trust the crew to turn down the rhetoric speaks to media management recognizing they have gone too far. Trump and MAGA are real, and unless the Democrats steal the election, Trump is on the move to the Capital for a date with the world on January 20, 2025.
