Love him or hate him, and there is really no middle ground; you have to admit that Donald Trump is a phenomenon. A businessman and TV personality, Trump has been a bigger-than-life celebrity for decades. For years, people wanted to be seen with him or have their picture taken with him. These same people turned on him quicker than a New York minute when he and Melania rode the golden escalator into the world of presidential politics. For the decade since that fateful ride, the Left has used every tool in its box to thwart his policies and initiatives, tie him up in court with trumped (excuse the pun) up charges, have tried to break him and his empire financially, and have even tried to kill him on multiple occasions. There is nothing they believe is enough to punish Trump and his supporters.
Ask these antagonists why, and they have no tangible answer other than he is Trump, and we despise him. He came to Washington with the promise of draining the swamp. He was in the process of fulfilling that promise in his first term. Still, his inexperience, poor judgment in the people to fill his staff, multiple impeachment efforts, COVID-19, and media bias all contributed to Trump falling short of his expectations and a loss to Joe Biden in his reelection bid. That loss, though questionable, may have been the best thing to happen to Trump and the MAGA Movement. Trump went to school in his four years off. He learned from his mistakes, was ready with a Dream Team for his cabinet, had his agenda prepared for Day 1, and he actually started his term on November 6. World leaders who knew that Biden had scammed America immediately treated Trump as the sitting president as soon as he was elected.
The pace of Trump 47 has been dizzying, especially after watching Biden sleep through his four years, and it is injecting Democrats with fear and rage. The Democrats have no policy answers and are a leaderless group of politicians with no purpose other than to obstruct every action of Donald Trump. There are some disappointing numbers, but the drop in poll numbers is more about not understanding the process. The tariffs are probably the toughest concept to grasp, but they are working. Countries are dropping their tariffs against us, and record amounts of revenue are being deposited in the Treasury. The playing field will be level, jobs will return to America, and all the Democrats can muster is singing on the Capitol steps and calling for impeachments. Political theater produces videos for CNN and MSNBC but is not as impactful as the 100 mug shots of deported illegals lining the White House driveway. MSNBC blurred the images when they showed the footage. Do you think the Left has a problem when they protect the deported and have nothing to say in support of their victims? Maybe Corey Booker or Hakeem Jeffries could have an unknown performer write a heartfelt song about the oppressed deported souls. It will be great for the next Capitol sit-in.
My answer to the question in the title is no. Trump is our once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I fear that years from now, history will report we missed a golden opportunity. Nobody on the political horizon has the confidence, courage, and the I-don’t-need-any-of-you attitude to take on Washington for the good of the country. People do not appreciate Trump’s love of the country and his willingness to sacrifice his personal goals for America. They try to tear him down because they do not understand him, and ignorance breeds fear. They do not know that he may be the last option to save America. They love the word existential but don’t recognize that what Trump is doing is eliminating those very existential threats that these people are too stupid to see. If the Left succeeds in stopping Trump, there will be many people to blame. Nobody will be able to point a finger of blame at us MAGA supporters.
