Michelle Says the Country is Not Ready for a Female President

By Ray Cardello for April 4, 2026, Season 34 / Post 48

I do not put much stock in the inner thoughts of Michelle Obama because I do not think she is qualified to make such a broad sweeping statement. I believe the country is more than ready for a female chief executive, just not her. Folks on the Left talk like Mrs. Obama is destined to sit behind the Resolute Desk, but what are her qualifications to be President? None, that I can point to, and that is not being cruel, just truthful. Michelle has had only one job, at a Chicago hospital, just before Barack’s successful bid for the White House. It was obviously a political favor, as she was not replaced by anyone when she left to become First Lady. She also made it quite clear during her eight years in Washington that she is not a fan of the United States, and buys into it being built on the backs of slaves, and is still a racist entity-amazing beliefs for the wife of the first Black President. First Lady is not a qualification for a higher office, and I felt the same way about Hillary Clinton. Clinton was elected to the Senate in a state with which she had no ties, and most people say would elect a coffee cup with the DNC logo. She was a horrible Secretary of State and again was not qualified to be our top diplomat.

The country’s record of female governors shows that voters hold women in high regard, readily see them in executive positions, and some of them have proven the voters right. Many, unfortunately, have fallen short of expectations and hype. Governors Hochul of New York and Healey of Massachusetts fall into this category. On the flip side, I believe that Sarah Huckabee Sanders of Arkansas and Kristi Noem, when she was Governor of South Dakota, performed well and will lead the way for more women, though I think the successful ones will be Republican.

I qualify that by saying that the Democrats of today a governing more on emotion than good policy. I do not see them as having any policy other than to oppose anything originating from the Right. A woman managing with emotion does not instill confidence or indicate strength and conviction, all of which are needed in a leader. I will say I am disappointed in Kristi Noem because of her poor decisions as Secretary of DHS. I say the same for Pam Bondi, who was a superlative AG in Florida, but could not handle the big stage at DOJ. I have been a fan and supporter of Tulsi Gabbard since her days as a Representative from Hawaii. Maybe it is her military background that has made her tough as nails, but she has withstood attacks from everyone, including members of her former Party, the Democrats. The Democrats accused her of being a Russian spy when she ran for President in 2020, forcing her to leave the Party. She is a solid contributor to Trump’s Cabinet and will hopefully remain that way. I have thought for many years that she was Presidential material, and a Gabbard/Sanders ticket someday would be formidable, just not in 2028, please. That spot is reserved for Vance/Rubio or Rubio/Vance.

So to sum up this article, I think Michelle is wrong, but she could limit her comments to her Party and be less wrong.
