There is far too much happening in D.C. right now, and the last thing the country needs is for Congress to abandon the country’s needs to play power games. We want to think that people who choose to run for and serve in office would be patriots who, above party, have a true love for the United States. Knowing that is too much to ask, can we at least have adults in the Capitol as decisions are made that will impact every American and the world? The jury is still out, and I am not holding too much faith in the Left.
The Democrats got their first scalp of the Trump second term when Kristy Noem self-destructed, and Trump had to relieve her as the head of Homeland Security. Many of the Dems handled this like schoolchildren celebrating the event but calling for more heads to fall. Noem is the first casualty of the Trump Cabinet, a marked contrast to the revolving door of his first term. Noem had some success, but she also made some bad decisions and lied to Senator Kennedy about Trump’s knowledge of her exorbitant spending on a DHS ad campaign, which was her biggest mistake.
Whether you are for or against the President attacking Iran, our military is in a battle and must be supported both emotionally and financially. The Democrats’ threat to fight any extra spending for Iran until Trump lets more people go from his administration is exactly what I am referring to as childish behavior. As is their effort to hold off funding DHS, FEMA, and TSA. This immature behavior is jeopardizing our national security, and that is nothing to take lightly. The Democrats are not being legislators or even politicians. They are being contrarian to anything proposed by Trump or the Republicans, even if the issue is supported by a huge majority of Americans. The Dems have indicated they will string out approval of Trump’s Save America bill, even though nearly 80% of all Americans support Voter ID. Even the two add-ons by Trump this week, preventing biological men from participating in female sports or prohibiting the transgender mutilation of juveniles. These are also heavily supported by all Americans, except Democratic politicians.
Schumer and Jeffries have to get their team in line, which will be tremendously difficult because both leaders are as bad as their Senators and Representatives. Jeffries has already called our action in Iran an abject failure. Just the thing that our men and women in uniform need to hear. A comment like that should disqualify Jeffries from ever holding the gavel if the Democrats ever regain the House majority.
This is a critical time, and I am not even thinking about the midterms. DHS funding, approving Senator Mullin to replace Noem, passing the Save America bill, and remaining vigilant at the border and consistent in finding and deporting every criminal who passed across our border. Adults can take their seats in chambers, but the children must be kept in the gallery.
