One of Joe Biden’s campaign promises was to heal the country after what he called the divisive four years of Donald Trump. This will go down on the list of broken campaign promises. You cannot be a healer when you refer to half the country as Racist, White Supremacist, Nazi Republicans every time you speak. In the world of hyperbole, this is not one. It has been documented that Biden has used each of those terms. He is no healer and is proving to be a bigger divider than Barack Obama.
There is no question that this country is polarized. If one side says white, the other will respond black. Bridging that divide requires patience, understanding, empathy, and solid communication. Ronald Reagan had all of those. Joe Biden has none.
Part of the problem is that Biden has no solid plan for the country. He planned to be the anti-Trump. He thought if he negated all of the actions of Trump, then we would be back to Obama’s America, and that would satisfy the Left and Radical Left. His plan is not working. He has mustered zero confidence in him or Kamala Harris from either side of the aisle. Nobody sees this team as capable and able to lead this country out of the pandemic. They would have been better off just leaving things as they were and let the momentum of Trump get us back to a state of ordinary. The Democrats would never have allowed him to do that. He had to take swift action, which he did but had no blueprint for what happened next.
So here we are six months into his term, and we have more doubt and confusion than trust and confidence. Biden’s poll numbers are slipping, and his latest moves are those of an administration in panic mode. The view of Harris is even worse, and any hope that the Democrats had of her stepping into the big seat sooner than later no longer exists. The consensus is she was a mistake, but they now have to move on with her. She, along with Biden’s failing mental acuity, are two heavy burdens to overcome.
Biden’s speech this week in Philadelphia showcased his shortcomings in leadership and his inability to be a healer. He pulled out all of the exaggerations he could muster regarding the Voting Bills being worked on or passed by many states. From “Biggest threat to our democracy since the Civil War” to “this is so big, it makes Jim Crow look like Jim Eagle”. What do those even mean? The Civil War, though 600,000 Americans lost their lives, ended slavery and brought the country together. The outcome was a good thing. Nobody even knows what Jim Eagle refers to, even Biden. He went on to implore Republicans to get on board to stop these bills saying, “Have you no shame?” Shaming people to do something is weak and divisive. Not the act of a healer.
From whispering to shaming, Joe’s performance so far deserves a very poor grade. There is no indication or hope it will improve. He is weak, and his team cannot make up the difference. As a Republican, I should be thrilled as every appearance by Biden or Harris is fuel for the GOP in 2022. But in the meantime, they are weakening and further dividing our country. That is unacceptable, and all people, from both sides, are waking up to that reality. We on the right knew this team was not ready for Prime Time. Now the Left knows they have bought a horse with a bad leg and no heart. It would be going too far to say no brain. However, some might.
