Men Vs Women Has Nothing on Right Vs Left

By Ray Cardello for July 22, 2023, Season 20 / Post 49

Men Are from Mars and Women Are from Venus addresses some of the most common relationship problems couples experience. It highlights the key differences between men and women in thinking, acting, and communicating. This book was written over 30 years ago (1992) but still has relevance. The differences between men and women are infinite but cannot touch the gap between today’s Conservatives and Liberals. The folks on the Right and left are so different in every aspect that we may actually exist in other universes. We cannot agree on right and wrong, and whether we can reach a consensus on black or white is questionable.

Some of the events of the last couple of weeks exemplify how far apart we are in our thinking, beliefs, and view of the future. The alarming element of our difference is our inability to discuss them. We can analyze them among our peers, but never across the aisle. The aisle marks the point where our respective worlds end, not collide. There is never an attempt to find commonality across the aisle. If we were one of Kamala Harris’ favorite Venn diagrams, the overlap area would be a pure void. To think otherwise would be a betrayal of your side.

Let’s take a look at a few of the more dynamic contrasts:

Reproductive Healthcare: both sides agree that women deserve every consideration and care needed to conceive and deliver healthy babies. However, that is not what the Left sees as reproductive care. To them, reproductive care means access to abortions up to the moment of birth and the legal right to allow a baby that survives an abortion to die. This difference shows two things. The Left has no concern for life and has a limited vocabulary. Reproductive does not mean life ending, but should we point that out, we will be canceled immediately.

Sovereignty and Closed Borders: The Right believes to be a country, you must have both sovereignty and closed, defined borders. These secure borders are our first line of defense. The Left has more of a global outlook. They believe in countries without borders and the freedom to roam from country to country without restriction. We see the outcome of open borders with the unvetted flow of illegal immigrants, guns, drugs, and human trafficking. This migration to our country is unsustainable. It burdens our social resources, schools, housing, and jobs. It will eventually destroy our country.

Trickle-Down Vs. Bottom-up: The Left believes there is an endless supply of money (taxes) from the wealthy and that we can subsidize the middle and lower-income population with public funds. The problem is that higher taxes push the rich to move or shelter their money outside the country, and when their money runs out, the Left’s system is broken. The Right believes in incentivizing the upper class to invest their money in this country, creating jobs that will grow the middle and lower classes. Lower taxes for the upper class worked under Reagan and Kennedy but were the enemy of the Progressive Left.

Education Vs. Indoctrination: Our education system has evolved into an expensive game of ABCs Vs. DEI/CRT/BLM & LGBTQ and our students are the losers. The game has created a divide between educators and parents, as the WOKE believes parents have no place in the process. This system has created an environment of animosity when it should have fostered cooperation. This tug-of-war results in lower test scores, higher drop-out rates, graduates who cannot read, and a generation ill-prepared for the workplace or future.

These are just a few examples, and the list of differences grows and widens daily. There is minimal effort on either side to change course and bridge the gap, and the political divide is also becoming a social one. The media may be the fuel that will eventually ignite this powder keg as the bias of the past has become a distortion of the message. There is no longer a reporting of the facts but narrative support. The media wants to create, not report, the news.

Biden ran on the promise of unifying the country, but his diverse Administration has done the opposite. With no leadership, our country is divided onto two wayward ships. This next election will determine if these two ships will find the same heading or collide and sink at sea.
