Miss Cortez, Being Loud And Obnoxious Doesn’t Make You Right

By Ray Cardello for March 22, 2024, Season 25 / Post 26

Nobody will ever accuse Alexandria Ocasio Cortez of being a member of the Mensa Society. Cortez is a woman who uses her position to remain in the spotlight and generate clicks on her social media sites. Since nobody in her district has seen her outside of campaigning every two years, the betterment of these people does not register on her priority list. Like the other Squad members, Cortez is focused on remaining in office and the hell with doing their job. The problem for Cortez is that any time she is in the spotlight and her mouth is moving, you can bet the words emanating will embarrass the Congresswoman from New York. It is challenging to say anything positive about Cortez and her fellow Squad members because it is an insult to this country and a mockery of our forefathers for them to sit in Congress.

Cortez will never be a force in Congress or ranked in the Top 10. As a matter of fact, she has been on the list of the bottom ten least effective members of Congress. The fact that she is ineffective is a good thing for America.

When asked about Congresswoman Cortez in 2021, Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-Brooklyn/Staten Island), told The Post, “Her ludicrous policy ideas would destroy our country — Americans should be thankful she’s not effective.”

On Wednesday, Cortez was in rare form and embarrassed herself with her ignorance of the law. She questioned former Hunter Biden associate Tony Bobulinski before the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability. It was more of harassing than questioning. She was pushing Bobulinski to specify the law that Joe Biden was charged with breaking. Bobulinski continued to say Biden was guilty of RICO violations. Cortez kept getting louder as she claimed that RICO is not a law but a category of law. Louder and louder, with such drama, she continued to spew misinformation.

The Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act is a United States federal law providing extended criminal penalties and a civil cause of action for acts performed as part of an ongoing criminal organization.

Cortez or her staff should have done a quick Google search before letting her speak and saved herself being the comedy spot on the evening news. This scenario happens so often to Sandy Cortez that you have to question the caliber of her staff. Or, is this what we should expect from today’s diplomats? Politics used to be a noble calling. You definitely have to go back in time to find it, but there was an era when people served their country. Today, Cortez is the epitome; we have people with agendas who want to be served by the common folk.

Cortez went to Boston University and got a useless liberal arts degree. She became a bartender and went from mixing Olde Fashioneds and Dirty Martinis to being elected, not as a member of Congress, but as a political activist. Her best work was not on the floor of the House but on Instagram and TikTok. These are the new Statesmen, and we expect sound policy from these people to move our great country forward. Who is the fool? Them, or us, who cast the votes and put these charlatans in office? These folks are who they are. The duped populace elevates them to a position of power that they will do anything they must to maintain.

We who expect better can look at Cortez and her contemporaries and see our great country slipping away. We have only ourselves to blame. We allowed these incompetent individuals to walk right in the front door and are now surprised they have taken the lock off the back door.
