The Left loves everybody. The Left is for 100% inclusion, so everyone has an equal outcome in this game of life. The only problem is that the Left despises anyone on the Right. We are pariahs who have become cult members and love the color red and the numbers 45 and 47. So, this becomes a fundamental math problem. Stay with me Left, and I’ll go slowly. If you do not include people on the Right, they must be subtracted from the 100%, and you are no longer inclusive. Do you see the problem here?
You may note a degree of satire in my writing, which I usually do not use. I have published 1,657 articles over the last four years, and one thing I have prided myself on is decorum. However, I came across a Facebook page that many of my friends are connected with, and I can definitely say that decorum is not a word in this person’s vocabulary. This person is a veteran and highly respected in the Turner/Hartford community. Because of his roles in the community, he has many FB friends and a broad influence. His resume would not lead you to believe he was capable of such hatred and vitriol in his writing. I will not call out this individual by name because it doesn’t matter. I will call out the disrespect he fills his posts with, and to my friends who like his posts and, in doing so, align themselves with his content, you share his disrespect for our sitting President. You have the right to disagree with our President and voice your dissent with his policies, as I did with Biden for four years, but you should be calling out the disrespect and not encouraging it.
In one recent post, he referred to Donald Trump as Dictator in Chief, Divider in Chief, Decadent Donald, Delirious Donald, and Dreadful Donald. He was very creative, but he never said why he disagreed with Trump’s decisions or presented an alternate case. He gets high marks for creativity but an F for content. In another post, he used a derogatory term starting with every letter of the alphabet to describe Trump. Maybe Karine Jean-Pierre would have gotten a chuckle over that post, but I remain unimpressed and disappointed.
He posted about Trump’s address to the graduates at West Point. He claimed the speech was focused solely on Trump and politics. I watched the same speech, and Trump spoke at length about the choices these men and women had. They could have gone to any school and gone on to lucrative jobs, making a ton of money, but instead, they chose service to the country. The sacrifices they made were great, but the changes the Trump administration was going to give them an opportunity to maximize their leadership roles with a newly charged fighting force that was more concerned with lethality than wokeness. He also assured them he would never send them into a conflict that had no purpose, as his predecessors had done. All comments are true, and all are fair game. All were met with applause from the graduates.
Posts like these are protected by free speech, but when they cross the line into hate speech, and much of his vile rhetoric is just that, you have left your First Amendment protections behind, and when you choose to attach your name to these posts by liking them, you are helping to hold the bile-filled pen. Shame on you.
I have tried in the past to look past the political views and find some other commonalities with friends with Leftist ideology, but no longer. What I have experienced in the last four months has proven to me that life is too short to compromise, and I choose not to allow hatred and rambling, unsubstantiated rhetoric into my sphere.
