Governor Kathy Hochul of New York and Mayor Michelle Wu of Boston share a serious case of Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS). Unfortunately for their constituents, they are letting this malady interfere with their job of keeping the people of New York and Boston safe. This situation stems from an ongoing battle with ICE. It has forced the two elected officials to choose between protecting the citizens who put them in office and the illegal alien criminals that have infiltrated their respective spaces. The battle line these two women have chosen is so bizarre and defies any logical debate. Both women contend that ICE is wreaking havoc on their streets and innocent people are being killed. Not only is this false, but there have been no fatalities and far fewer documented injuries than the rhetoric implies in either Boston or New York at the hands of ICE agents. So what is the basis for these two women making it unlawful for any member of New York State law enforcement to aid an ICE officer, and Mayor Lu has gone so far as to shut off all parking facilities for ICE vehicles? How does an elected official even think of something so ludicrous and then call a press conference to announce their earth-shaking decision? Power and hatred, pure and simple. I shake my head and wonder what is going through the minds of the legal props these politicians surround themselves with in their dress uniforms and shining badges to announce their reckless policies. There is no way these men and women who have taken an oath to protect the people can agree with these loose cannons at the microphone.
These Blue politicians are no longer governing or even trying to come up with constructive ideas to help their constituents. Lu, Healy, Hochul, Pritzker, and Newsom are in complete reactionary mode. Whatever Donald Trump comes up with to make this country safer or more prosperous, they are quickly and solidly against it. I am a Trump supporter and am proud of the MAGA movement. That does not mean that I would rubber-stamp and approve of every decision Trump makes. His tariff policy confuses me and sometimes is more retaliatory than thoughtful. I wish he would stop toying with Iran diplomatically and get the job done quickly by ensuring that its nuclear program will never surface, that the terrorist regime is toppled, and that the Persian people can reclaim and rebuild what was a proud and progressive, in the good meaning of the word, country. Let’s get our troops home, oil prices back down, and go into November with the positive momentum we will need to maintain our control of Congress and quell this ridiculous Socialist “experiment” that Democrats are now calling the ultra-radical wing of its Party.
The elders of the Left are at a loss on how to handle the DSA Party. They seem to now realize how foolish they looked with the one-big-tent characterization of the Party, so now they want to downplay the movement as a social experiment while claiming the DSA as the only group listening to the people. The Democrats are floundering, but their Golden Girl, Sandy Cortez, just threw a wrench into the mix by paying up her overdue dues and rejoining the DSA. Does that mean she will be running in ’28 as a third-party candidate? No, she will need the support, and more importantly, the money of the Democratic machine, so she will continue to play both sides. She is quite possibly the shrewdest and most adept politician on the Left while, at the same time, being one of the least productive. The Democrats created her, and they deserve to lose in 28 with her leading the ticket.
Free may get cheers at rallies, but it is a failing and unsustainable policy for the country. Hate Trump is reaching its expiration date. It will be interesting to see if any Democrat, other than Fetterman and possibly Whitmer, can conjure up a platform that is actually positive for the people and does not involve impeaching Trump. I don’t think they have the intellect, leadership, or the will to pull it off.

Grok’s comments about the images: The joke is the mismatch in scale — a statewide/citywide policy announcement treated like a ribbon-cutting for a parking lot — while the federal agents are reduced to looking for a legal place to leave the van. It’s meant to poke at the optics of the press conferences, and the private-lot FOIA/letter campaign more than to claim anyone is cartoon-villain evil.
