Early on, I wrote a unique article on Sundays, aptly named The Sunday Spotlight, about someone who had a significant positive impact on our lives. In January 2023, I wrote about Pete Hegseth and his deep faith and concern for all children. In addition to his weekend duties at FOX as co-host of Fox & Friends, Pete has produced a series on the state of our education system and a couple of special features on Christ in his homeland. These FOX Nation specials explore Pete Hegseth’s depth and how he digs into a subject, researches it, and delivers a program that anyone of any age can watch, understand, and enjoy. Unfortunately, I stopped that Sunday series because it was the least read article of any week. If I were to write one today, it would again be on Pete and his military career and his current best-seller, “The War on Warriors,” where he details how low our military has fallen under Biden and what he would do to even the international playing field and makes our forces second to none. Pete believes in power and peace through strength. I have been a fan of Pete Hegseth for years, and though it came as a surprise, I am thrilled that Donald Trump has tapped Pete as our country’s next Secretary of Defense.
There are many facets to this fascinating individual, who I see as the ultimate Patriot. Some make him an incredible person, while some qualify him to fill the role of Secretary of Defense. These qualities had put Hegseth on Trump’s radar since his first term when Trump was close to naming Pete to head up the VA. Now Trump wants Pete Hegseth to be Secretary of Defense. This nomination has made the Left apoplectic. The media and government officials on the Left have every right to object to the naming but not to the personal attacks, which have been obscene, even by the Left’s standards.
The attacks started rather mundane about him having an insignificant job as a weekend host of a morning show on FOX, or that he had little military experience and was therefore unqualified for the job. Obviously these people in haste did not do the research before spewing, or that did not matter. Then, they went after his character. One supposed expert on MSNBC went overboard in calling Hegseth a White Supremacist whose only goal was to cutoff the path of advancement for Blacks in the military. She had no proof, nor could she cite anything Hegseth had ever written, said or done. She was basing her comments strictly on his tattoos. Brilliant, yet why would MSNBC give her a platform unless they agreed? Then there were the unsubstantiated and anonymous claims that there was a secret sealed resolution to a sexual harassment case involving Hegseth. How could you make such a claim without facts or proof unless you were seeking a defamation suit?
Pete Hegseth may be exactly what the country needed at this time when the military is in decline in numbers and tone. Pete has military experience, and his purpose is to deWoke the military and return it to the ultimate fighting machine this country needs and deserves. If he does that, he is the right choice, after all.
