Does Character In Public Life Still Matter

By Ray Cardello for July 28, 2024, Season 27 / Post 44

“Does Character In Public Life Still Matter,” was supposed to be one of Joe Biden’s most potent lines of his speech from the Oval Office on Wednesday, but it fell as flat as his comb-over. We will explain why, but first, some general comments on a speech derided on the Right and lauded on the Left. The revues were so opposite you would think there were two separate versions. But alas, there was one. One side opened their eyes and ears, and the other said as instructed.

Biden’s speech was previewed as an opportunity for Joe to explain directly to the American public why he dropped out of the 2024 Presidential race. He did not fulfill that goal. Joe alluded to putting democracy above himself and passing the torch, but those reasons should have been addressed before the primaries began. He had promised America in 2020 that he would be a one-term President if elected. His Presidency was to be the bridge to a new generation of leaders, and he would correct the chaos of the Trump Presidency and build a foundation for younger Democrats to build on. If he was truthful to the American people and isn’t that what character is, why did he change his mind, run for reelection, and put the country at the point? He showed himself and his family to be selfish, power-hungry, and needing one more bite at the money apple before he called it a day. That is not character, but self-serving and the epitome of people who created the Swamp.

Character is living an exemplary life that can be looked up to and a goal for younger generations. Character does not need to be fact-checked because their lives and words are pure, truthful, and above reproach. To have character is to admit your shortcomings, apologize for your actions, and learn from your mistakes to become a better person. What Joe Biden has done in nearly four years as the Captain of the good ship America is not an example of a man with character but of a typical politician who will say anything to garner your support and vote only to turn his back on you as they progress on down the road. Instead of using this question as an applause line, Joe Biden should have answered the question by looking America in the eye, admitting his lies, and ending the conspiracy to hide the real Joe Biden from America and the world.

There are other obvious examples of people and groups falling short on the character scale. The debacle and disgusting display on Friday night in Paris at the opening night of the Summer Olympics showed how the Olympic Committee, the decision makers at the Paris Games, and much of the world are at war with Christianity. Christianity and Conservatism stand in the way of the WOKE and Progressive agendas and must be destroyed for the Left to succeed in its quest to transform America and the world. What idiot stood up and, with hatred and depravity in their heart, suggested it was a good idea to use the Olympic platform to insult Christians worldwide by having a group of drag queens march through the streets of Paris before recreating a ghastly reenactment of the Last Supper? Courageous people condemned the decision and its supporters, while other weaker people praised the despicable display as a brilliant piece of art and free expression.

Sadly, this world does not have many people of character anymore, but rather individuals and groups who want to take advantage of the masses for their betterment. This fact makes it difficult to choose our leaders because you need to put them through a character filter rather than taking them at their word. Unfortunately, there is little or no character left in our leaders or people striving to be leaders, and Biden chose the sanctity of the Oval Office to drive that point home to us. If he had an iota of character in his body, he would have used the time to apologize, as forgiveness from America, and resigned.
