God Saved Him, Because There Is More Work To Do

By Ray Cardello for November 6, 2024, Season 29 / Post 39

Only a non-believer could deny the divine intervention we have witnessed since July. If not for the last-second turn of his head in Pennsylvania, the country would have lost the one man who could get this listing ship back on course. He survived a second attempt, and fortunately, this shooter was apprehended before taking a shot. After an arduous campaign filled with vile rhetoric from his opponent and the entire Left machine, Donald Trump was declared the President-elect at 2:30 on Wednesday morning. It was appropriate that it was a tense, lengthy night after the most expensive presidential campaign in history, but at least we did not have to wait days for final returns. It was a triumphant sight when Donald Trump took the stage with his entire family, a jubilant JD Vance, and the staff that crafted the most incredible political comeback in American history. The only thing missing was a concession from the losing candidate. Kamala Harris is either holding on for a last-minute miracle or purposely being rude in a final shot at Trump.

I realize the media is supposed to be neutral, but scanning the channels last night exposed varying degrees of exuberance or despair. FOX News was high as they enjoyed every announcement that another state had gone for Trump. On the other end of the spectrum, MSNBC was angry in total disbelief that Trump had stolen the election from their chosen one. They were not holding back on their criticism of Trump and his supporters and declaring the American people ill for voting for this man. I flipped to MSNBC at 2:30 AM as Fox declared Trump the winner, and I was disappointed but not surprised that the discussion was dominated by talk about abortion. With all of the concerns facing Americans, like the border, crime, inflation, and Fentanyl killing 100,000 young Americans a year, these folks are hyper-focused on the right of women to kill their unborn fetuses. If they took a minute for self-reflection, the reason they lost the election is apparent: Democrats have become a one-dimensional party obsessed with reproductive rights, aka abortion—an unfortunate state.

This is not the time to dwell on the Democrats but to bask in the joy of our history’s most incredible political comeback. Donald Trump is one of a kind. He is nearly an octogenarian with the energy of a thirty-year-old. He is accused of being a selfish individual doing all he has for the last decade for himself, and his ultra-rich friends. Donald Trump is a billionaire who, if he were selfish, would enjoy the fruits of his toils and spend his fortune on his family. Instead, he is wasting millions defending himself in various courts, the victim of a weaponized Justice Department. Anyone with a modicum of common sense can see that this man is sacrificing much for us Americans because he genuinely loves our country and its people.

Donald Trump takes office in January as a lame-duck president. He will never travel the campaign trail again, which must be liberating. If the Republicans can hold the House, Trump will be unburdened when he takes the oath on January 20 (sorry, I had to say it). He has the experience of the mistakes he made in his first term. He will choose his cabinet and staff more carefully, and it should be an all-star team with the likes of Elon Musk, Tulsi Gabbard, and Vivek Ramaswamy. These are not woke people but brilliant minds ready to serve the American people and help Donald Trump make America Great Again. It is an exciting thought, and today was like Christmas morning for those of us on the Right. We cannot wait to get to work.
