Biden’s Sprint To The Finish Looks Like A Tortoise Race

By Ray Cardello for December 11, 2024, Season 30 / Post 24

After four years of alternative messaging from the Biden Administration, we should understand they call the final 40 days a sprint to the finish with tongue-in-cheek. I want to show respect for the office, so I coined the phrase “alternative messaging” instead of lying, but honestly, after four years of constant lies from the White House, they may not deserve respect. They deserve the truth. The pardon of Hunter Biden may be the uttermost lie of all.

Joe Biden and his feckless mouthpiece, Karine Jean-Pierre, have perfected the art of the lie, and the pardon is a prime example. First, you establish a narrative. For months, Biden and KJP have labored to convince the American people that there would be no pardon of the prodigal son, that Biden believed in the rule of law, and that he would allow the system to travel its course. As reporters asked the question in many different ways, the answer was always no pardon. But then, on a Sunday night, as the President and KJP were somewhere over the Atlantic on the way to South Africa, they announced the pardon of Hunter Biden. It is not just a simple pardon for the two existing convictions but for all potential sins that occurred in the last twelve years. There are no questions, no briefings, just an announcement during the news void of a Sunday night.

That is a long preface, but it is essential to understand the Biden White House’s lack of credibility. Nothing is as it appears or told to you. So when one of Joe Biden’s advisors tells you Joe is in a sprint to the finish, you know you can question his comment. It is a ludicrous statement primarily because nothing in Biden’s term has had urgency. We have monitored Biden’s daily itineraries for nearly four years, and two things stand out. The first is that Biden rarely worked anything longer than a four-day week in Washington, and the other is that he loves the short workday, usually having his first event around 10 AM and closing out the day before 5 PM.

There is no indication Biden is working on any initiatives with Congress. The Democrats on the hill are upset with his pardon of Hunter and feel he is squandering the last two months of his presidency rather than getting some things done before Trump returns. Most of us can see how this will play out, and it will not be beneficial. Biden has opted for Executive Order versus working with Congress, and that will undoubtedly be his play in January.

We can expect Biden to make some moves on the border, preventing mass deportation, additional funding for Ukraine, green energy, and sanctuary cities. These are all high-priority concerns for Democrats and would potentially set up some roadblocks for the incoming Trump Administration. Executive Orders do not have the staying power of legislation, but Biden will be looking to bolster his legacy on the way out the door and not a stamp on history. Biden and Kamala have secured the title of the worst presidency in our history. The best we can hope is that Biden does not get us involved in another conflict, like Syria while packing his bags for Rehoboth. Maybe we can get him to use his unused vacation time before January 20th. That’s right, he already maxed that out before the midterms.

Postscript: As I wrapped up this article, Joe Biden played one of his cards. As we suggested, Biden freed $10 billion worth of sanctioned funds for Iran, which is the equivalent of giving Iran $10 billion in cash. Iran is supporting terrorism in the Middle East and around the world, and Biden just gave them $10 billion to help them out……this is our president and friend to Iran
