The Democrats are being steamrolled by the Socialists, and they are letting them use the big tent for the slaughter. Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries have been claiming for months that the young radical DSA candidates were a welcome addition to the Party, but the truth is, the leaders of the Party have as much of a chance of fending off the assault as Bowie and Custer did at their last stands. The Democrats’ weakness in defending themselves is a good reason why Kamala Harris leads the polls to repeat as the Democratic candidate for President in ’28. They have no choice but to let the Socialists into the Party because they are out of options and trying to delay their own inevitable demise.

The old guard like Manchin, Carville, and Jones sees the end coming. They say they are ready to leave the new Party, but where do they think they are going? The Republicans don’t have a tent to let them in. Any Democrat who thinks these upstart radicals want to join the Party is either in denial or exhibiting their stupidity. There is no other explanation. Anyone who has taken the time to read the DSA manifesto knows that none of their beliefs or goals align with any American, let alone a Democrat.

I listened to DSA committee chairman Frances Gill debate a former resident of Venezuela, and it was painful on many levels. Their wants are irrational, the levity in their demeanor is alarming, and their inability to answer a direct question about their beliefs shows that they have no understanding of their demands or the damage they will do to the country. She pointed to the VA as a government program that is run well, even though it is recognized as one of the least efficient. They believe that every President in our history was evil and that the members of the DSA are good and have the interests of Americans in mind. She did not answer a single question, including what will happen to society or the country when prisons are closed, police and the military are abolished, and the borders are wide open. She does not support the arrest of Maduro because he was a democratically elected leader of his country, but wants the apprehension of Netanyahu. There is no logic or sanity to what they want because they have not been educated on the perils of Socialism. They are failures of our education system that taught them that America is oppressive and Socialism is the alternative.

These people are frustrated and disillusioned. They have no skill and therefore no future. They have been coddled since birth, indoctrinated by the system, and not taught any survival skills other than to have someone else do the work. The problem is that their numbers are growing. More young people are coming out of their parents’ basements and joining the cause. Older folks are frustrated that it is becoming impossible to make ends meet and blame capitalism and successful people for their plight. It doesn’t matter that the alternative is Socialism. It just matters that it is an alternative.

The DSA keeps racking up primary victories, in some cases, ousting Democratic incumbents. I guess that is making room in the tent. They have had their causes, such as BLM, and global warming, and now they want to tear it down, They have shown that this cause is not just in NYC, Seattle, or LA, but rather across the spectrum. We must cut off the head of this serpent before it reaches land and finds its way to the end of the rainbow. And by the way, there is nothing Democratic about the DSA.
